Increase safe schools revenue and expansion of eligible recipients

SF 4031 expands access to school safety funding by adding charter schools, nonpublic schools, and Tribal contract schools to the list of entities eligible to receive "safe schools revenue." It establishes a new safe schools allowance of $44 per adjusted pupil unit for fiscal year 2026 and later, which will determine aid amounts for all eligible schools (replacing previous formulas for traditional districts).
