SF 3667 Minnesota Senate · 2025-2026 Regular Session

Student support aid usage for certain licensed special education teachers costs authorization

SF 3667 allows Minnesota school districts and charter schools to use student support aid funds to cover costs for certain licensed special education teachers. It expands the definition of "student support services personnel" to include teachers licensed as academic and behavioral strategists or specialists in developmental disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, learning disabilities, or autism spectrum disorders. The bill specifies that this aid can be used to create new positions, increase part-time roles, or make temporary hires permanent for these teachers. Additionally, it clarifies that costs paid under this provision won't count toward special education expenditure calculations.
