Notice requirements provision under the Human Rights Act
What changed between versions
Removed the requirement for employers to create and maintain their own printed materials outlining individual rights under the Human Rights Act.
Added a requirement for the commissioner to consult with the commissioner of labor and industry to create and distribute an educational poster in English and the five most common languages spoken in Minnesota.
Modified the posting requirement so employers must now keep the state-created poster posted in a customary location for employee notices, rather than creating their own materials.
Removed the requirement for school districts to inform students and parents of their rights by posting notices on district websites before each school year.
Added an effective date of July 1, 2027, for the new provisions.
