Health insurers to provide explanation of benefits electronically authorization
SF 3297 allows Minnesota health insurers to provide Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents electronically instead of by mail. Insurers must give patients a choice between paper, electronic, or both formats and clearly explain how to select their preferred method. Patients who don't specify a preference will automatically receive a paper copy. This applies to all group health insurance plans in Minnesota, standardizing how insurers deliver payment details to patients.
