Certain Indian Tribe owned property tax exemption establishment provision
This bill establishes a property tax exemption for certain properties owned by federally recognized Indian Tribes in Minnesota. It applies only to one parcel (max 40,000 square feet) located in a city with over 400,000 residents (as of 2020), owned by a Tribe as of January 1, 2024, and used exclusively for Tribal purposes or public charities. Properties used for housing, apartments, agriculture, or forestry are excluded. The exemption takes effect for property taxes assessed in 2026.
