Electricity generated outside the state exempted from the requirement that a proportion of retail electricity be carbon-free by certain dates.

This bill exempts electricity generated outside Minnesota from the state's carbon-free energy requirements for utilities. It modifies Minnesota Statutes section 216B.1691 by adding that the carbon-free standard (requiring 80% by 2030 for public utilities, 90% by 2035, and 100% by 2040) does not apply to electricity generated outside the state.
