Resident tuition rates provided to individuals who move to Minnesota for employment purposes.

HF 3432 amends Minnesota law to create a new pathway for qualifying for resident tuition rates at public colleges and universities. It allows individuals who move to Minnesota specifically for employment to qualify if they accept a full-time job in the state before relocating and before applying for admission (or are spouses/dependents of such individuals). This new requirement adds to existing residency rules, which previously focused on high school attendance and graduation within Minnesota. The change takes effect for the fall 2027 academic term and applies to currently enrolled students, but does not refund past nonresident tuition payments.
