How much of this money is categorized

The FEC publishes no industry or interest field. Every interest below is a categorization MyRepTracker makes about a committee, recorded only where a document behind it can be opened: the committee's own statement of organization, its own published mission statement, or a named third party. A committee's name is never a source. Categories are taxonomy interest-1.7 and committee sponsors are placed by rules sponsor-1.0.

Coverage is partial on purpose, and the part that is not covered is shown at full size. Leadership PACs, party committees, and other candidates' committees are excluded outright, because their giving is an officeholder's or a party's decision and no interest label describes it. The three columns are never added to each other.

These figures add up all 5,784 stored campaign records.

The interests

46 interests are in the taxonomy and 44 of them have a committee categorized under them. The rest are listed with nothing beside them rather than left out: the vocabulary a page uses is part of what it says, and an interest with no committee yet is a gap in curation and not a claim that no such money exists.
