Relative to Cambodian Genocide Memorial Week.

This Senate Resolution establishes April 17 to April 23, 2026, as Cambodian Genocide Memorial Week in California to honor the victims and survivors of the Khmer Rouge regime. The bill recognizes the historical tragedy that killed over 1.7 million people and acknowledges the resilience of the Cambodian community, particularly in Long Beach, which has the largest Cambodian population outside Southeast Asia. It calls on all Californians to observe the week by participating in appropriate activities and programs to remember the loss and celebrate the cultural contributions of Cambodians to the state and nation.
