The Attorney General or a district attorney, county counsel, or city attorney may bring a civil action to enforce the new provisions. A prevailing plaintiff may recover a civil penalty of $100,000 per property sold in violation plus reasonable attorney's fees and costs. This is designated as the exclusive enforcement mechanism.

The original Multifamily Housing Program amendment (Section 50675) was renumbered from Section 1 to a later section number to accommodate the new Title 8 as the first section. Minor nonsubstantive corrections were made to the existing text (e.g., 'it the omnibus' corrected to 'the omnibus').
