Its removal means parcel map approval continues under current law.

The maximum expiration period for a tentative map (including extensions) was reduced from 16 years to 10 years from the date of approval or conditional approval. This brings the cap back in line with existing law's general limit, effectively eliminating the expanded timeline the Senate version had created.

The 48-month extension available when a subdivider must spend $236,790 or more on public improvements outside property boundaries is now limited to applications for a tentative subdivision map submitted prior to January 1, 2027. Applications filed on or after that date will no longer qualify for this extension.

The amendment to Government Code Section 66473.5, which would have required parcel maps (for which a tentative map was not required) to be approved through a nondiscretionary ministerial process, is entirely removed from the bill.

The amendment to Government Code Section 66410, which made a nonsubstantive change to the title of the Subdivision Map Act, is removed.
