What changed between versions
Active duty service members were added to the list of individuals who must be ranked in the top rank of an eligibility list when they achieve a passing score on a state civil service entrance examination (Section 18973.1(a)).
Eligible spouses of active duty service members, widows or widowers of veterans, and spouses of 100 percent disabled veterans may now receive the appropriate credit for any selection test generally related to hiring and promotional preferences (Section 18974.5).
A new provision was added allowing authorizing employers to grant a preference in hiring and promotion to the eligible spouse of an active duty service member, veteran, widow or widower of a veteran, or spouse of a 100 percent disabled veteran (Section 18973.1(a)).
