Dual language immersion programs: instructional materials: grants.
What changed between versions
The standalone appropriation provision in Section 52101(a) that directly appropriated $5,000,000 from the General Fund for FY 2026-27 was removed. The bill no longer appropriates funds within its own operative text.
References to 'of the sum appropriated in subdivision (a)' were changed to 'funds appropriated for purposes of this article,' shifting reliance to the intent statement in Section 52102 and the contingency provision in Section 52103, which requires a separate appropriation by the Legislature in the Budget Act or another statute.
The grant recipient reporting requirement was expanded. In addition to providing a physical or digital copy of instructional materials obtained with grant funds, recipients must now also provide 'a list of any materials obtained or developed.'
All subsections of Section 52101 were renumbered down by one letter (b became a, c became b, d became c, e became d, f became e) to account for the removal of the former appropriation subsection.
