Employment: minimum wages: agricultural workers.

The definition of 'corresponding employee' was narrowed. The old version covered any employee engaged in agriculture who was either a resident of the state OR not an approved agricultural employee. The new version limits it to employees who are residents of the state only, removing the broader alternative that would have captured non-resident workers not in the approved program.

A drafting error in the 'corresponding employee' definition was corrected: the old text read 'substantially similar work, similar, work' which appears to be a leftover from an earlier amendment. The enrolled version reads cleanly as 'substantially similar work.'

The introductory phrase in Section 1208(c) was changed from 'For purposes of this section, the following definitions apply:' to simply 'For purposes of this section:' - a minor stylistic change with no substantive effect.

The definition of 'corresponding employee' in Section 1(c)(4) now requires that the employee performs the same or substantially similar work 'during the same time period' as the approved agricultural employee. Previously, no temporal concurrency was required, so a worker doing similar work at a different time could qualify. This narrows the pool of workers who can be compared for wage purposes.

Page numbers changed from 98 to 97 throughout, and the fiscal note text about the Industrial Relations Unpaid Wage Fund was repositioned within the document. The amendment date header was updated to May 18, 2026 with the prior March 25 date retained as a secondary line.
