Relating to: study of guaranteed employment grant program and making an appropriation. (FE)

Senate Bill 187 requires the Department of Workforce Development to conduct a study on establishing a guaranteed employment grant program. This program would provide grants to public and nonprofit entities in the "care economy" to create temporary, collectively bargained jobs paying $20 per hour. The study will analyze the requirements, costs, and eligibility for roles benefiting specific groups, including young adults, individuals with disabilities, low-income household heads, the long-term unemployed, and previously incarcerated individuals. The Department must submit a report with its findings and recommendations within 18 months, with $250,000 appropriated to fund this study.
