Relating to continuing education requirements for certain physicians regarding adoption.

This bill requires physicians in Texas who treat pregnant women to complete continuing education on adoption laws as part of their license renewal. The education must cover topics such as voluntary termination of parental rights, the process for releasing newborns to adoption agencies, financial assistance options for expectant mothers, and differences between private and foster care adoptions. Physicians must complete at least one hour of this training within their first two renewal periods, with at least one hour due within the first year of their initial registration, and two hours every eight years thereafter. The Texas Medical Board will create rules to implement these requirements by December 1, 2025, and the law takes effect on September 1, 2025.
