Relating to the creation and operations of a health care provider participation program in certain counties.
This bill creates a program allowing specific Texas counties to require nonpublic hospitals to pay mandatory fees. It applies only to counties with populations between 46,000-50,000 that lack hospital districts/public hospitals and border the state capital. Funds collected from hospitals would go into a local county fund for use as specified in the bill (Section 292E.103(b)). County commissioners courts must approve participation with a majority vote before collecting payments.
