Relating to approval of graduate medical education by the Texas Medical Board and medical care provided at certain health care facilities by physicians with that education or certain board certification.

SB 2339 prevents Texas health care facilities (licensed by the Health and Human Services Commission) from refusing to hire or grant privileges to physicians based on their graduate medical education or board certification, as long as those credentials are approved by the Texas Medical Board. The law requires facilities to accept all approved training paths and board certifications, banning discrimination in employment or privilege decisions. Facilities violating this provision face license revocation by the commission. The bill takes effect September 1, 2025.
