Relating to preventing discrimination in foster care.

SB 2265 prohibits discrimination in foster care based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. It applies directly to the Health and Human Services Commission, the department, foster care contractors, and others involved in foster care licensing, verification, or child placement. The bill explicitly bans adverse actions against providers or families related to these protected characteristics during foster home approval or child placement decisions. The law takes effect on September 1, 2025.
