Relating to the Internet broadcast or recording of certain open meetings.

SB 1027 requires Texas state agencies with annual budgets exceeding $10 million and 100+ employees to live-stream public meetings via video and audio on their websites in real-time. Agencies must archive these recordings for two years, making them available within seven days of the meeting. Smaller agencies must provide audio or video recordings within seven days instead of live streaming. The law applies to meetings held on or after September 1, 2027, with exemptions for emergencies or technical failures.
