HB 4671 prohibits the appointment of deputy early voting clerks for primary and general elections that select state and county officials in Texas. The bill adds a new Election Code section (83.0301) explicitly banning these appointments and repeals an existing section (85.0091(b)) related to the same process. These changes apply only to elections ordered on or after September 1, 2025. The bill does not affect appointment procedures for other election types, such as municipal or runoff elections.
