Relating to the resumption of service by certain judicial officers under the Judicial Retirement System of Texas Plan Two.

HB 4641 allows certain retired judicial officers in Texas to rejoin the Judicial Retirement System (Plan Two) if they resume full-time judicial service after a six-month separation. To qualify, retirees must notify the system within 30 days of taking office and pay ongoing retirement contributions. If they serve at least 24 months, their retirement payments will be recalculated to include higher salary history and additional service credit. For shorter service periods, the system refunds their contributions and restarts suspended payments. This bill modifies existing retirement rules for judicial officers returning to active service.
