Established specific categories of professional school employees including administrators, teachers, substitute teachers, supervisors, social workers, counselors, nurses, teacher's aides, contracted teachers, student interns, school bus drivers, and board members.

Changed the liability trigger from general negligent acts to specific scenarios including sexual misconduct, failure to report child abuse, and negligent acts resulting in student injury or death.

Added provisions requiring that the professional school employee who committed the act must be named as a defendant in any action against the public school.

Set a maximum damages award of $500,000 for each act or omission described in the liability section, along with court costs and attorney's fees.

Established that the new chapter applies only to causes of action accruing on or after the effective date of the Act, with the Act taking effect September 1, 2025.
