Relating to the transfer of public school students who are children of certain public servants.

HB 4126 allows public school students who are children of peace officers, active-duty military personnel, or firefighters to transfer to a different campus or school district upon parent request. School districts must honor these transfers to the location chosen by the parent, but are not required to provide transportation. The policy applies to all Texas public school districts beginning with the 2025-2026 school year. This bill amends Education Code Section 25.0344 to specifically include these public servant categories in transfer eligibility.
