Relating to requiring voter approval for mass pesticide application by municipalities or counties.
This bill requires Texas cities and counties to obtain voter approval before conducting mass pesticide applications using vehicles or mechanical devices. Voters must approve such applications in a special election with a majority vote. The rule does not apply to hand-application or pesticide use confined entirely within a municipality's boundaries. The law takes effect September 1, 2025.
