Relating to a limitation on the salary of superintendents and chief executive officers of school districts and open-enrollment charter schools.
HB 2562 limits superintendent and chief executive officer salaries in Texas public school districts and open-enrollment charter schools. It prohibits districts and charters from paying these leaders more than twice the highest salary paid to a classroom teacher in their school. Charter schools must also publicly post these salaries on their websites. The law applies only to new employment contracts signed on or after September 1, 2025.
