Relating to the waiver of state park entrance, admission, and vehicle entrance fees for certain holders of state parklands passports and their immediate family members.

HB 2541 waives state park entrance, admission, and vehicle entrance fees for specific groups holding a state parklands passport and their immediate family members. It expands eligibility for the passport to include Texas residents aged 65+ (with six months residency), honorably discharged veterans, active-duty military (U.S. or Texas forces), surviving family members of fallen service members, and individuals with significant disabilities. Under the bill, passport holders and their accompanying immediate family members can enter state parks without paying fees, and vehicles of these individuals are exempt from vehicle entrance fees when the passport holder is present. The bill takes effect September 1, 2025.
