Relating to the electronic filing with the Texas Ethics Commission of certain reports of political contributions and expenditures.
HB 2020 requires Texas candidates and officeholders who receive over $25,000 in total campaign donations or spend over $25,000 on political activities in a calendar year to file their reports electronically with the Texas Ethics Commission. It excludes judicial candidates/officers subject to separate election rules. The commission must make these electronic reports publicly available within seven business days of filing. This rule applies only to reports due on or after January 1, 2026.
