Secretary of State - As enacted, establishes a complaint process with the secretary of state for any person who contends that the person’s name or address was included on a document filed with the secretary of state without the person’s consent. - Amends TCA Title 48.

SB 1050 creates a formal process for individuals to challenge the unauthorized inclusion of their name or address on business documents filed with Tennessee’s Secretary of State. It requires complainants to submit specific details (document description, personal info, relationship context) under penalty of perjury, and gives the Secretary 10 business days to review complaints. If the complainant proves, by "clear and convincing evidence," that their information was filed without consent, the Secretary must void the record. The law also mandates responses from involved parties within 21 days, prohibits refunds for voided filings, and makes complaints public records.
