AN ACT RELATING TO FOOD AND DRUGS -- UNIFORM CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES ACT -- NON-OPIATE DIRECTIVE (Establishes a procedure for individuals to file a revocable voluntary non-opiate directive form with the person's licensed health care practitioner.)

AN ACT RELATING TO COURTS AND CIVIL PROCEDURE -- COURTS - LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS - USE OF LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS IN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS (Protects communications between language interpreters appointed under this chapter and limited-English-proficient persons.)

AN ACT RELATING TO LABOR AND LABOR RELATIONS -- WORKERS' COMPENSATION (Allows waiver of prior claimed common law rights by corp./LLC officers/Enlarges advisory council from 16 to 17 members/Imposes certain limitations on payments to injured employees/Authorizes uninsured protection fund to promulgate rules and regulations.)

JOINT RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE REPORTING DATE OF THE SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE COMMISSION TO STUDY THE EFFECTS OF LEGALIZING MARIJUANA (This resolution would extend the reporting date of the special legislative commission to study the effects of legalizing marijuana from March 1, 2018, to May 31, 2018, and said commission would expire on July 1, 2018.)

AN ACT RELATING TO HUMAN SERVICES -- QUALITY SELF-DIRECTED SERVICES -- PUBLIC OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES -- INDIVIDUAL PROVIDERS OF DIRECT SUPPORT SERVICES (Enables the creation of a public registry of home health aides, giving seniors and individuals living with disabilities another choice when accessing long-term care options.)

AN ACT RELATING TO INSURANCE - MOTOR VEHICLE BODY REPLACEMENT PARTS (Provides that insurance companies may not mandate the use of aftermarket parts without the owner's consent on motor vehicles less than 48 months beyond manufacture date.)

AN ACT RELATING TO MOTOR AND OTHER VEHICLES - COMMERCIAL LOW SPEED VEHICLES (Authorizes commercial low speed vehicles of 8 persons or less to operate on roadways of the city of Newport as a commercial jitney service.)

AN ACT RELATING TO EDUCATION -- CERTIFICATION OF TEACHERS (Directs the department of education to utilize the federal government's Troops to Teachers program, and would further provide that the implementation of the program would be contingent on federal funding.)

AN ACT RELATING TO TOWNS AND CITIES (Amends provisions of the tax increment financing act in order to encourage municipalities to use tax increment financing to facilitate economic development.)
