Relating to workforce assistance to veterans in the construction industry; declaring an emergency.
Summary
Directs the Department of Veterans' Affairs to develop and implement one or more pilot programs statewide to provide training, job placement services, financial assistance, technical support and business creation assistance to veterans in the construction and construction materials industries. Permits the department to use moneys in the Veterans' Services Fund to develop, implement and maintain the pilot programs. Requires a report to the Legislative Assembly regarding the status of the pilot programs by September 15, 2026. Sunsets pilot programs on December 31, 2027. Declares an emergency, effective July 1, 2025.
