Oklahoma Self-Defense Act; modifying certain registration approval requirements. Effective date.
What changed between versions
Firearms instructors must now register with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation after receiving CLEET approval, and must display their registration certificate during training courses.
Registration fees can now be paid at the time of each application rather than upfront, with the same fee options of $100 for five years or $200 for ten years.
The Bureau must issue a five-year or ten-year handgun license to approved firearms instructors at the time of registration certificate issuance without additional fees.
Registered instructors from specific organizations (subparagraphs a and b) are exempt from renewing their firearms instructor registration certificate with the Bureau at the expiration of the registration term.
Failure to register or complete required training results in revocation or suspension of the instructor certificate by the Bureau.
