HB 3179 bans the sale, distribution, or offer for sale of cultivated meat (meat grown from animal cells in a lab) in Oklahoma. It makes violations a misdemeanor and allows the Oklahoma State Department of Health to suspend or revoke food sellers' licenses for selling cultivated meat. The bill exempts research by government entities, colleges, or their partners with formal agreements. It takes effect November 1, 2026, and does not affect existing food safety rules for conventional meat.
