Turnpikes; requiring Oklahoma Turnpike Authority to install road spikes on exit ramps; effective date.

HB 1634 requires the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority to install retractable road spikes on all turnpike exit ramps. The spikes must automatically retract for vehicles exiting correctly but deploy to block vehicles entering the ramp in the wrong direction, with clear signage. The Authority must follow safety standards, conduct routine inspections, and maintain the spikes to ensure they don’t hazard proper traffic. The bill takes effect November 1, 2025.
