SB 78 requires individuals convicted of 22 specific serious offenses to serve at least 85% of their prison sentence before becoming eligible for parole. These offenses include first-degree murder, rape, child sexual abuse (such as child pornography and trafficking), aggravated assault, and human trafficking. The bill prohibits these offenders from earning credits that would reduce their sentence below the 85% requirement. It amends Oklahoma's criminal code and takes effect November 1, 2025.
