Health insurance; health insurance plan providing prescription drug coverage; insurance notification; effective date.

HB 1479 requires health insurance plans covering prescription drugs to allow pharmacies to bid for contracts every three years and to send written notice to customers 30 days before premium renewal if a medication they used in the past year is no longer covered. It applies to insurers that do not maintain an open pharmacy network. The law takes effect November 1, 2025, and does not affect plans with open pharmacy networks.
