Horse racing; televised races; racetracks; out-of-state; out-of-country; effective date.
This bill updates Oklahoma laws to allow licensed horse racing tracks to televise their races to other tracks within the state, as well as to locations in other states or countries. It requires tracks that broadcast races out-of-state or out-of-country to simulcast all their live races to other Oklahoma tracks, enabling bettors to wager on these events both in-person and at off-track facilities. The legislation also clarifies that days spent wagering on televised races do not count as official racing days for a track and establishes rules for how betting proceeds and unclaimed tickets are shared between sending and receiving tracks.
