This bill, known as the Budget Implementation Act of 2023, was designed to increase the maximum number of full-time-equivalent employees allowed for certain state agencies. It was set to take effect on November 1, 2023, by amending the state's budget and appropriations rules to permit these staffing adjustments. Although the legislation passed the legislature, it was vetoed by the Governor on June 14, 2024, and therefore did not become law.
