AN ACT to amend and reenact subsection 5 of section 39-32-02 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to the exemption from the requirement to maintain a record of duty status for certain intrastate drivers; and to declare an emergency.

Changed the duty cycle requirement from twelve hours on duty to fourteen hours on duty, with ten consecutive hours off duty separating each cycle.

Updated the return-to-work timeframe from twelve consecutive hours to fourteen consecutive hours for drivers (except driver salespersons) to return to their work-reporting location.

Maintained the existing exemption for drivers operating within a one hundred fifty air-mile radius from their normal work-reporting location or official worksite.

Added a requirement that motor carriers must maintain and retain accurate time records for six months showing when drivers report for duty and are released from duty each day.
