AN ACT to amend and reenact sections 54-17.5-01, 54-17.5-02, 54-17.5-03, 54-17.5-04, and 54-17.5-06 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to the appointments, operations, and powers of the lignite research council, the powers of the industrial commission, and public record exemptions.

Updated economic statistics in the declaration of findings to change lignite production figures from thirty million to twenty-five million tons, and adjusted job and revenue figures accordingly.

Changed the council's executive committee structure from electing a vice chairman and five members to electing the vice chairman and five members to serve with the chairman and vice chairman.

Modified the council chair election process to require electing both chairman and vice chairman from among members, rather than electing them separately.
