AN ACT to create and enact a new section to chapter 12-44.1 and two new sections to chapter 54-23.3 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to the correctional facility grant program, housing task force, and criminal justice data collection; to amend and reenact section 12-47-31 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to offenders released from the department of corrections and rehabilitation; to provide for a statement of legislative intent; to provide for a legislative management study; and to provide for a legislative management report.

Added a new requirement for a 'Criminal justice data' task force to examine data collection, retention, and dissemination across judicial districts and correctional facilities.

Added a requirement for the housing task force to report on procedures for improving awareness of housing options and the capacity of sober and low-barrier housing.

Removed the entire section establishing the Native American re-entry program, which previously required a specific program for Native American offenders and a designated liaison.

Modified the composition of the correctional facility grant committee by replacing the North Dakota association of counties member with the commissioner of recovery and re-entry.

Updated the bill header to reflect the correct session start date (January 7, 2025) and corrected the summary of the act to accurately reflect the new and removed sections.
