AN ACT to amend and reenact sections 16.1-09-02, 16.1-09-03, and 16.1-09-05 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to the statement of interests filed with the secretary of state.

Added requirement that candidates must file statements of interests with the filing officer at the time of filing nomination certificates, endorsements, petitions, or write-in candidacy certificates.

New requirement for candidates to list all business offices, directorships, and fiduciary relationships held in the preceding calendar year.

New requirement to disclose sales of goods or services to political subdivisions or state agencies exceeding five thousand dollars in the preceding calendar year.

Clarified that individuals appointed to state positions must file statements simultaneously with the announcement of their appointment.

Added requirement that filing officers collect fees for late filings pursuant to section 16.1-08.1-06.1.

Updated preservation requirements to keep statements for one year after receipt for candidates who were not elected or appointed.

Added requirement that filing officers may not include a candidate's name on the ballot if errors are discovered and not corrected before the sixty-fourth day before the election.
