AN ACT to create and enact a new section to chapter 15.1-02 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to cardiac emergency response plans for public and nonpublic schools and athletic events.

Added Department of Health and Human Services as a collaborator with the Superintendent of Public Instruction for creating cardiac emergency response plan templates.

Added requirement that cardiac emergency response plans must be reviewed and adopted by the district crisis management team annually.

Added requirement that schools include cardiac emergency response plans in the school district crisis management plan.

Removed requirement for periodic training of school personnel to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, use automated external defibrillators, and administer first-aid from the plan template requirements.

Removed requirement for annual practice by faculty and students of the plan using drills from the plan template requirements.

Added requirement for coordination with local emergency medical services providers to the plan template requirements.

Added immunity provisions for school personnel, boards, and individual members from liability when carrying out cardiac emergency response plan elements.
