Local school boards must now annually report start and end dates of instructional calendars to the Superintendent of Public Instruction and State Board of Education by April 1, identifying any statutory exceptions for earlier start dates.

The State Board of Education must report annually by June 15 to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee on all school start and end dates, including schools that start earlier than the standard date and the statutory exceptions used.

Counties with local school administrative units that have received a good cause waiver for weather-related closures may now use up to 15 remote instruction days (or 90 hours) during closures, compared to the previous five days (or 30 hours) available to all other public school units.
