Maddy summaryThis bill is a commemorative resolution that honors the 78th anniversary of the Women's Armed Services Integration Act of 1948, which established a permanent role for women in the U.S. military. The measure directs the legislative body to pause its proceedings to pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of women veterans, both living and deceased. It also mandates that a copy of the resolution be sent to the Truman Library Institute. The bill does not create new laws or change policies but serves as a formal acknowledgment of historical contributions to the armed forces.
Maddy summaryThis bill establishes new standards for the written examinations that individuals must pass to become licensed insurance agents or sub-licensees. It requires the state superintendent to set the times and locations for these tests and mandates that organizations contracted to administer them follow guidelines from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, unless the superintendent adopts different rules. Applicants must pay a non-refundable fee covering the actual administrative costs of the exam, and the superintendent may accept results from previous equivalent tests instead of requiring a new one. The law applies immediately to all examinations conducted on or after its effective date.
Maddy summaryThis bill allows the state to issue special deer management permits in the northern zone, enabling hunters to take one additional deer beyond their regular license limit until December 31, 2027. The legislation authorizes the environmental conservation department to create rules defining specific areas within the northern zone where these permits apply. It also repeals an existing provision that previously restricted similar permit issuance in that region. Hunters in the northern zone would be directly affected by this change, while the department gains flexibility to manage deer populations in balance with available habitat.
