Allows the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in tracking big game

Bill S 7550 proposes to amend the environmental conservation law to allow the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones, for tracking big game. Specifically, it enables licensed individuals to use certified drones to locate big game that are dead, wounded, or injured, including bear. The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) would be responsible for creating regulations to certify both the drones and the individuals authorized to use them for this purpose.
