S 4985 New York Senate · 2025 Regular Session

Requires certain companies and corporations to report certain data regarding the gender, race and ethnicity of their employees

This bill requires certain corporations and limited liability companies (LLCs) that already file EEO-1 reports with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to also submit copies of those reports to the New York State Secretary of State. The Secretary of State must then publish the gender, race, and ethnicity data for each company on their official website within 90 days of receiving the report. It applies only to businesses already required to file EEO-1 data federally, not all employers. The law takes effect two years after enactment.
