Provides for a heart disease presumption for certain New York police department traffic enforcement agents

This bill creates a presumption that heart disease leading to disability or death for NYC Police Department traffic enforcement agents (positions I and II) was incurred during duty, if they passed a physical exam at hire with no pre-existing condition. It automatically treats such heart conditions as work-related unless proven otherwise, simplifying disability claims for these officers. Affected officers retiring under this provision receive a pension equal to 75% of their final average salary. The city of New York bears all associated costs, and the law takes effect immediately.
