Enacts the "autism data privacy protection act"

This bill, A 8716 ("autism data privacy protection act"), requires New York state agencies, contractors, and service providers to obtain written consent before collecting or sharing personal details about a person’s autism diagnosis or related information. It allows exceptions for court orders, service delivery needs, or legal mandates if data is anonymized. The Attorney General can enforce the law by seeking court orders or imposing $2,500 penalties per violation (with each unauthorized disclosure counted as a separate violation). The law takes effect immediately upon enactment.
