Relates to first aid instruction for students in grades nine through twelve

This bill requires New York high schools to provide first aid instruction to all students in grades nine through twelve. The curriculum must cover recognizing shock, minor wound care, choking, minor burns, and CPR (with an option for students to become certified), as established by the state education commissioner. Schools can integrate this into existing health classes, offer it as an after-school elective, or use another approved method. The law would take effect on July 1 following its enactment.
